Slovak TV on board

After months of meetings, Slovak TV has finally come on board. They've agreed to handle post production for the Slovak version of our film, air it and market it in middle Europe.

Although Slovakia is not a large market, ST's decision represents a big victory for the chicken wing hunt. The European mentality, especially as regards art, lacks the populist, ironic and freewheeling streaks necessary for full appreciation of the hunt, in my opnion. I don't mean that in a disparaging way. European cinema is great. But it mostly takes itself seriously. So to learn that our project has evolved to the point that Slovak film execs believe it will travel among the Slavs, is a great boost.

About the two versions: director Zuza Piussi will edit her version, and I -- acting as producer and co-directer -- will edit a U.S. version. They may be the same film with a few different cuts or vastly different movies -- with different storylines, running times and styles of editing. Zuza and I hope to screen them back-to-back in Bratislava a study in the difference between American and middle-European sensibilities.
